Construction Updates
Construction is underway on Samohi’s new Student Services Building, replacing the former Business Building with a modern, welcoming hub designed to better connect students with wellness support, counseling, college and career resources, arts spaces and the Vikes Inn Student Store. The project is expected to open in August 2028. More information can be found in the Spring 2026 issue of Building Futures (see below).
Completion of the New Exploration Building and Gold Gym
Santa Monica High School held a ribbon-cutting ceremony for its new Exploration building and Gold gymnasium on Wednesday, December 11, 2024. This event marked the completion of the new state-of-the-art facilities designed to enhance student learning, physical fitness, and artistic development.
The new buildings reflect the District’s commitment to creating future-ready learning environments that empower students to reach their full potential, both academically, socially, and emotionally.
