Michelle and Barack Obama Center for Inquiry and Exploration

The former Olympic High School campus is being modernized to support expanded educational opportunities while continuing to serve students across the district. Beginning in fall 2026, Olympic High School, the district's continuation high school, and the Off Campus Learning Center (OCLC), the district's alternative program, will return to the Michelle and Barack Obama Center for Inquiry and Exploration.

The modernization project also creates space for two new programs. The Short-Term Academic and Therapeutic Support (STATS) Program will provide temporary academic and therapeutic support for students who need additional psychological and emotional resources as they prepare to transition back to their home schools. The project will also include a new preschool hub that brings together multiple preschool classrooms previously located at elementary school campuses and relocated to accommodate the district's Transitional Kindergarten expansion. This dedicated early learning environment will provide new opportunities to support the district's youngest learners.

Bond-funded improvements include renovated classrooms, updated restrooms and new furniture for the STATS Program. The preschool hub will feature en-suite restrooms in each classroom, outdoor learning areas and an expansive playground, creating engaging spaces that support early childhood learning and development.
