McKinley Elementary School's new two-story Classroom and Administration Building
McKinley Classroom Building
The first project to emerge from McKinley Elementary School’s campus master plan supports a project-based learning approach and expands instructional strategies currently in place at the Santa Monica-Malibu Unified School District. The new two-story classroom building has eight classrooms, outdoor classrooms, school front office and support functions. The project creates a new front of school with a student waiting and staging area as well as a drop-off/pick-up lane.

Draft Historic Resources Report
The Board of Education adopted the Historic Resources Policy (BP & AR 7113) at their February 9, 2021 meeting. They directed the review of the facility by historic resources consultants to determine potential historic resources. The reports prepared by the Architectural Resources Group and Historical Resources Group identify facilities that would potentially be considered eligible for listing under the National Register of Historic Places, California Register of Historical Resources, or City of Santa Monica Designated Historic Resources.
