Grant Modernization Projects
Since the passage of Bond Measure QS in November 2024, SMMUSD has begun exciting modernization efforts at Grant ES. These projects aim to transform the campus into a future-ready learning environment that supports innovation, accessibility, and student success. Key projects include the early learning building modernization, an updated library designed for 21st-century learning, a revitalized historic courtyard that honors the school’s legacy, and the construction of a new classroom building to support growing educational needs. Together, these modern spaces support and represent SMMUSD’s commitment to providing exceptional learning environments for all students.

Draft Historic Resources Reports
The Board of Education adopted the Historic Resources Policy (BP & AR 7113) at their February 9, 2021 meeting. They directed the review of the facility by historic resources consultants to determine potential historic resources. The reports prepared by the Architectural Resources Group and Historical Resources Group identify facilities that would potentially be considered eligible for listing under the National Register of Historic Places, California Register of Historical Resources, or City of Santa Monica Designated Historic Resources.
