SMMUSD BREAKS GROUND ON LINCOLN MIDDLE SCHOOL NEW CONSTRUCTION PROJECT

Santa Monica, CA – A groundbreaking ceremony at Lincoln Middle School on Wednesday, March 13 at 1:00pm will memorialize construction of the new Library and Classroom Building that is currently underway. The $16 million dollar project began in December 2012 and is anticipated to be complete in September 2014.

Santa Monica, CA – A Topping Out Ceremony - an event to celebrate the completion of the structural steel framing of the building - will take place at Santa Monica High School (Samohi) on Monday, February 11 at 4:00PM. This ceremony will memorialize a significant milestone of the $55M Science and Technology Building and Site Improvements Project that began in December 2011.

Santa Monica, CA – A groundbreaking ceremony at Santa Monica High School (Samohi) on Monday, April 16 will memorialize construction of the new Science and Technology Building and Site Improvements Project that is currently underway. The $55 million dollar project began in December 2011 and is anticipated to be complete in the fourth quarter of 2014.

LINCOLN MIDDLE SCHOOL RIBBON CUTTING CEREMONY CELEBRATES COMPLETION OF MODERNIZATION PROJECT

Santa Monica, CA – A ribbon cutting ceremony is scheduled at Lincoln Middle School on Wednesday, February 1 at 3:30p.m. to memorialize the completion of the modernization project. The $1,775,000 modernization project began in April 2011 and was completed during Winter break 2011.

SMMUSD REACHES HIGH MARKS FOR RECYCLING CONSTRUCTION DEBRIS

Santa Monica, CA – Throughout the month of October 2011, the District recycled a remarkable amount of construction debris on the job site at both John Adams Middle School (JAMS) and Edison Language Academy. Both schools are working towards achieving a low rate of landfilled construction waste. We are currently averaging a recycled waste percentage of 98%!

EDISON LANGUAGE ACADEMY GROUNDBREAKING CEREMONY MARKS THE BEGINNING OF NEW CONSTRUCTION

Santa Monica, CA – The groundbreaking ceremony at Edison Language Academy on Wednesday, November 30 memorialized the commencement of the construction that is currently underway. The new construction is a $34 million dollar project that began in August 2011 and is anticipated to be complete in the 3rd quarter of 2014.

Santa Monica, CA – The groundbreaking ceremony at John Adams Middle School (JAMS) on Thursday, November 17 marked the beginning of construction of the modernization project that is currently underway at the school. The ceremony included a project overview and site walk to identify points of interest on the construction site.

SANTA MONICA HIGH SCHOOL'S NEW SYNTHETIC FIELD AVAILABLE FOR STUDENT AND COMMUNITY USE

Santa Monica, CA – Thursday, Oct. 27, 3:30pm will mark the grand opening and ribbon cutting of the new synthetic turf athletic field at Santa Monica High School (Samohi).  This exciting event for both the students and the community will offer enhanced recreational use for Samohi during school hours and will be available to the public during non-school hours.
